Port Blair, Jan 15: As per the Notification issued by the Election Commissioner (UTs) for A & N Islands, the Bye/Casual Elections against the vacancies caused in the Gram Panchayat Member Constituencies, Lucknow-1 under Gram Panchayat Rampur of Mayabunder and Long Island-7 under Gram Panchayat Long island of Rangat Tehsil will be held on 17/02/2013, a press-note issued by the Director of Panchayat & Municipal Elections said.
All Political parties, Contesting candidates and their Election Agents are informed to strictly comply with the provisions of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands prevention of defacement of property Regulation, 1987 (1 of 1987) in its true letter and spirit to avoid any legal consequences.
Any violation of defacement of property Regulation or MCC may be informed to the Office of the Director, Panchayat & Municipal Elections (Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman) over Telephone No. 238881.
