Port Blair, July 31: CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee deeply condoled the passing away of Mr. VakkomPurushothaman, former Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands at a private hospital at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala this afternoon. He was 96 years old.
Mr. VakkomPurushothaman was the Lt Governor in Andaman & Nicobar Islands from March, 1993 to February, 1996. A shrewd politician, Mr. VakkomPurushothaman had initiated a number of new Projects in these islands which made him popular among the islanders.
CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee pays rich homage to his memory and conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
