Tugapur, July 18: In an unwavering commitment to combat the rising issue of illicit brewing and the illegal sale of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and country-made liquor in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar Police is leaving no stone unturned. Recent developments saw the police receive credible information concerning the involvement of an individual in the illicit sale of liquor near Tugapur, No. 07.
Taking immediate action upon receiving the tip-off, a specialized team was swiftly assembled under the leadership of Sub Inspector Dinesh Meena, accompanied by Home Guard Saw Tamwala, constables B. Dileshwar Rao, Sailen Pandey, and PC Felicities. The team, operating under the guidance of the Station Head Officer from Mayabunder Police Station, conducted a meticulously planned raid yesterday evening to crack down on the illegal sale of country-made liquor.
During the operation, the team successfully apprehended Shankar Munda, a 36-year-old resident of Tugapur, No. 07. The raid yielded a significant quantity of over 20 liters of country-made illicit liquor in his possession.
