Port Blair, July 14: On 05/07/2023 Sh. Subhayu Banerjee, Hon’ble Additional Session judge, North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder has convicted one person namely Bhabasindu Mondal R/o Parangara under PS Kalighat for committing gruesome murder of his wife.
A case vide FIR No. 33/21 dtd. 10/11/2021 u/s 302 IPC was registered at PS Kalighat against the accused and the investigation was taken up by SI G.Suresh Kumar, SHO PS Kalighat himself. During investigation the IO conducted a thorough investigation, recorded statement of prime witnesses, collected all the evidences.He left no stone unturned, walked an extra mile and burnt his midnight oil to finalize the case and submitted the chargesheet before the Hon’ble Court within 42 days.The trial of the case was carried out in fast track andthe officer has taken keen interest in the appearance and pairvi of each and every witness during trial which resulted in the conviction of the case.
After completion of hearing the Hon’ble Additional District & Sessions Judge, Mayabundersentenced theaccused to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life alongwith a fine for an amount of Rs. 20,000/- and in failure he shall undergo rigorous imprisonment for a further period of 2 months for committing the said gruesome murder.
