Port Blair, June 28: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti organization has requested to the Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to construct an AsthiVishrjanStal (Place for immersion of Cremated Remains) in Port Blair. The organization, led by President RakeshwarLall, highlighted the absence of a dedicated facility for the important Hindu ritual of AsthiVisarjan (immersion of cremated remains).
AsthiVisarjan involves immersing cremated remains in water, symbolizing the purification of the soul and its journey towards salvation. However, the geographical constraints of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands make it difficult for Hindu families to perform this ritual due to the absence of a dedicated place.
In a letter, Mr. RakeshwarLall, President, Hindu Rashtra shakti, A & N Islands requested the Lt Governor to address this issue by constructing a suitable AsthiVishrjanStal. They emphasized the significance of having proper infrastructure to facilitate the rituals, considering its importance in Hindu customs.
Furthermore, the Hindu Rashtra Shakti urged the concerned department to provide an update on the progress of the proposed Moksh Dham. They earnestly requested the Lt Governor’s intervention to expedite the process.
