Port Blair, Jan 05: As a part of the observance of 24th Road Safety Week 2013, the traffic police has organized an ‘On The Spot Painting Competition’ of students today on 05/01/13, at the Auditorium of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair. Total 140 students from different schools participated in the competition in three categories.
Winners of the first category i.e. Class VIth to VIIIth are (1) PrasantBiswas, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School (First), (2) Pratika Mishra – K.V – II (Second), (3) Pragati, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (Third). Two Consolation prizes are awarded to (1) S. SaiSagar, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School and (2) Aminoor Islam – Ravindra Bangla Vidyalaya.
Winners of the second category i.e. Class XIthto Xth are (1) B. Manoj, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Mohanpura (First), (2) B. Venkatesh, Govt. Sr. Sec. School (Telugu Medium) (Second), (3) Aisha Omeera Khan, Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School (Third). Consolation prize is awarded to (1) C.P. Anand, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
And the winners of third category i.e. class XIth to XIIth are (1) Danesh Mustafa, Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. School (First), (2) R. Sree Kant, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Mohanpura (Second), (3) G. Venkatesh, Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School (Third). Consolation prize is awarded to (1) PriyankaMondal, Ummat Public School.
Apart from above, Road Safety Walk was also organized today by the local Police of Humfrigunj and Bambooflat in their respective jurisdictions and hundreds of students and general public have participated in the walk.
