Port Blair, June 08: To mark the World Ocean Day, staff members of TSG Hotels and Resorts held a beach cleanup drive at Corbyn’s Cove Beach, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Thursday morning.
The beach clean-up was carried out as part of their routine Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.
The staff members collected plastic bottles, cups, wrappers etc for more than one hour to make the beach look beautiful and plastic free. They also took pledge to keep the surrounding area clean and green by creating awareness among beach-goers.
Most of the garbage collected was non-degradable which poses a major threat to the birds, animals as well as aquatic life of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director of TSG Hotels & Resorts Mr. TSG Bhasker said that the increasing marine debris in A&N Islands is causing hazard to the pristine ecosystem of our Islands.
“The aim of organizing such beach cleanup drive is to create awareness among the Islanders and Visitors on preserving the environment and to develop constructive mindsets that will make our environment better in the future”, he added.
