Port Blair, June 07: CPI (M) has demanded to publish the list of toppers in the Class XII and Class X examinations in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, results of which were declared on 12th May, 2023 without any further delay as has been done till last year. In a letter sent to the Secretary (Education), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Mr. D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee drew the attention of the Administration to the inordinate delay noticed in declaring the names of toppers of Class XII and Class X Examinations from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, results of which were declared on 12th May, 2023. He told the Secretary (Education) that all these years, details of toppers of CBSE Examinations of Classes XII and X in Andaman & Nicobar Islands were normally declared on the same day or next of declaring the result by the CBSE. However, this practice has been broken this year, creating doubts among the students and their parents.
Mr. Ayyappan further told the Secretary (Education) that in this era of advanced communication technology, it is very easy to find out who are the toppers among a few hundred students who appeared in the examinations. The candidates who topped the examination might have understood their ranking and it is natural that the elated students will be interested to know it through official sources with proper publicity, etc. which is their right and cannot be blocked by any authority, he further said.
