Port Blair, June 05: The Botanical Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre, Port Blair, organized World Environment Day-2023 on 05th June, 2023 at Dhanikhari Experimental Garden-cum-Arboretum. The function was inaugurated by Regional Head and Joint Director Dr. Lal Singh by planting a seedling of Coconut tree (Cocos nucifera L.). In his presidential address emphasized on the significance of plants in terms of the existence of life on Earth and encouraged the participants to plant more and to save the environment.
On this occasion, seedlings of fruiting tree species such as Mango, Khatta phal etc. were distributed to participants and planted over 150 seedlings of fruiting tree species.
