Diglipur, May 24: G 20 Mega Beach cleanup was organized by Diglipur Forest Division in collaboration with the Ministry of Earth Sciences to create awareness among the local populace and to sensitize the people towards awareness and conservation of ‘Beach Ecosystem’.
As per report, many events like Walkathon, Cycle Rally, Cleaning up of National Parks and public places was prior conducted for the build-up to the main event on 21/05/2023. Zilla Parishad Adhyaksh Mr. Subrata Basu was the Chief Guest and the Commandant Coast Guard DHQ-9 Mr. Ankur Barodia was the Guest of Honor of the grand gala. The event was started with the lighting of lamp and address by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor.
The Chief Guest Mr. Subrata Basu then administered the “G 20 Mission Life Pledge” to adopt a healthy environment friendly lifestyle. Then Beach Cleaning was flagged off. A total of 237.6 kgs of waste was collected and segregated as per the categories for safe disposal and recycle. Photography, painting and waste out of the best exhibits were on display along with Sand Art, Selfie Point and Signature Wall for the lifestyle for environment initiatives.
Vote of thanks was given by RFO Ms. Sushila Simon. The event was attended by many other dignitaries including Mr. Rahul Dev Boora IAS, Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Pramukh, Diglipur and other departmental heads and PRIs.
