Port Blair, May 10: The Directorate of Industries, Andaman and Nicobar Administration organized a short term Skill Development training program on ‘Handicrafts (Coconut Shell & Wood) products’ at Gram Panchayat, Namunaghar from 17th April, 2023. Altogether, 25 candidates participated in the training program and were imparted the basic skills and knowledge for making handicrafts, thus creating self-employment opportunities and avenues for their livelihood.
The training program concluded today with a valedictory function followed by Awareness Program in which the officials of the Directorate of Industries disseminated information on various schemes implemented by the Directorate of Industries. The handicraft products produced during the Training was showcased which received much appreciation from PRI Representatives and villagers. Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Y. Venkateshwar, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Namunaghar and other PRIs appreciated the efforts of Industries Department and all the participants for making variety of handicraft products and advised them to apply the skills obtained during the course of the training program for the betterment of their livelihood.
