Port Blair, May 10: A memorable function was organized at MGGC, Mayabunder on 9th May’ 2023 with solemnity on the 162nd. Birth anniversary of “Vishwa Kavi” Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore. The function included a cultural programme as well as speech by faculty members and student’s .A Rabindra Sangeet group song was presented by students of Bengali Department. Mr. B. B. Mondal and Dr. N Lakshmi, Assistant Professor recited Tagore’s poems and Dr. Manik Mali, Associate Professor also spoke on Tagore’s life and works. On the occasion Principal (i/c), Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas spoke on Tagore’s ideas on Education and evaluation of Viswa Bharati during the lifetime of its founder, Mr. Rabindra Nath Tagore. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Pratap Chakroborty, faculty of Bengali department.
