Port Blair, May 10: The 162ndRabindra Jayanti is celebrated on the 25th Day of Baishakh in the JNRM Auditorium today on 09th May, 2023 by the PG Department of Bengali. On the occasion the Students of PG Department of Bengali presented a colourful cultural program depicting the Poem, Drama, Songs, Dance and lecture from the life of Vishwa kavi Rabindranath Tagore.
On this occasion Mrs. Pearl Devdas, Principal In charge was the chief Guest and she gave a brief introduction on the values of the great poet and philosopher and asked the students to be inspired and also imbibe the same in their life.
The program begins with Udbodhani Sangeeth on this occasion Dr. Rasbehari Banerjee, Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali stated in his talk that Rabindranath Tagore was not only a writer but was a great social scientist his teachings not only touched the life of Bengali or Indians but the entire human community world over. The Head of the Department Dr. J Roychowdhury highlighted the lifestyle of the Great Poet and the Program concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Rasbehari Banerjee.
