Port Blair, Dec 30: The Netaji Bhabans Manch today paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra at Bhathu Basti bus stand. The main aim of the programme was to remember him and his fight against the British people for the freedom of our country. The programme was organized today to mark the 69th anniversary to mark the historic occasion of hoisting of Tri-Colour for the first time on the Indian soil at Port Blair by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
To start the programme, the Chief Guest, Dr. M K Debnath offered floral tributes on the photograph of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. This was followed byPatriotic Bengali song. The programme began with two minutes silence to mourn the death of Delhi Gang Rape Victim.
Later, Mr. Biswajeet Lahri, Acting President, Netaji Bhabana Manch spoke about the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Mr. Lahri said that on this day, i.e., 30th December, 1943 Netaji came to Andaman Islands and hoisted the Tri Color at the Netaji stadium. Mr. Lahri said that the people of India have forgotten our most dedicated freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. “He is the hero who fought for us for the freedom of country,” he said. Mr. Ram Babu also presented life story of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
