Mayabunder, Apr 06: The ongoing repair and maintenance work of Neemtala road in Pokadera, Mayabunder, was abruptly stopped without any apparent reason this evening, causing distress to the villagers who were happy after witnessing the ongoing works.
After the work was halted abruptly this morning, the concerned contractor immediately informed the matter to Mr. Krishna Murthy, Executive Engineer of the North and Middle Andaman District, Andaman Public Works Department (APWD), who, in turn, brought it to the attention of Mr. Ankit Yadav (IAS), the Deputy Commissioner of the North and Middle Andaman District.
Upon hearing the matter, Mr. Ankit Yadav (IAS) instructed Mr. Krishna Murthy to resume the construction work of Neemtala road. The abrupt stoppage of the work caused a delay of almost two and a half hours and incurred a significant loss to the concerned contractor who was carrying out the repair and maintenance work.
The repair and maintenance work of Neemtala road was started a few days ago, thanks to the efforts of Mr. Ankit Yadav (IAS). The Deputy Commissioner, known for his positive attitude, took the initiative to start the work, which had been pending for many years. The people of Mayabunder were delighted to see the ongoing work at Neemtala road, which is an essential road for the village’s transportation.
