
Port Blair, Mar 20: The All India Tent Decorators Welfare Association, headquartered in New Delhi, has extended its association to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A state conference meeting was held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Hotel Peerless Resort at 07:30 PM, where Mr. Ravi Jindal, the National President of the association, visited the islands to brief the members about the association’s work.
During the meeting, Mr. Jindal appointed Mr. Hemant Kumar Dingra as the President of the Andaman Association and other office bearers under his leadership. Mr. Jindal expressed that the association has more than 4.5 crore tent dealers/traders associated with it from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Andaman Islands. The association will assist them with land availability, GST settlement, and purchase of goods from other states where they can get quality products at better prices. He added that the association is closely associated with the central and state governments.
Mr. Jindal also mentioned that the association will not support child marriages, and they have taken an oath with all associated organizations not to supply tents and other wedding materials for such events. Furthermore, the association will not use single-use plastic in any function.
Mr. Hemant Kumar Dingra, the newly appointed President of the Andaman Association, stated that the organization has been operational in the Andaman Islands since 2015 with 48 members. If any member has any problems with the administration, the association will talk directly with the administration and try to solve the issue as soon as possible. Additionally, the association is always ready to serve and help needy people during any natural calamities.
