Port Blair, Mar 17: A recent jungle search operation conducted by the raiding team of Police Station Billiground at Chainpur and Prafulla Nagar village in South Andaman has resulted in the discovery and destruction of 400 litres of illicit liquor. The raid was conducted based on credible information received by the police.
The recovered illicit liquor, which was found in the forest area of Chainpur village, was stored in a tin and other articles, and was destroyed on the spot in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
The successful operation was the result of the dedicated efforts and hard work of the police team, led by PS Mayabunder Dinesh Meena (Sub Inspector), Grace Field (Sub Inspector), PC Dilleshwar Rao, PC Sailen Pandey, PC A. K. Chaubey, and Home Gard Tamlawa, under the supervision of Inspector Abdul Arif (SHO) of PS Mayabunder.
During the intensive search, the police team recovered the bhatti articles and the 400 litres of lehan, which were being kept for fermentation. The police team’s swift action in destroying the illicit liquor on the spot has prevented it from being distributed and consumed, thereby protecting the public from its harmful effects.
