Port Blair, Mar 17: Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, the Zilla Parishad Member of Govind Nagar, Great Nicobar has been elected as the Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman for the second year term.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh secured 11 votes out of total 18 votes. The election was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Ms Veditha Reddy, IAS.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bhoominathan, Zilla Parishad Member from Beodnabad has been elected as new up- Adhyaksh of South Andaman Zilla Parishad. The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman who conducted the election later handed over the certificate to both the winning candidates. BJP has ten members in South Andaman Zilla Parishad while Congress has eight members.
