Port Blair, Mar 16: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the world’s largest student organization, has raised concerns over the delay in the release of stipend payments for students of Andaman Law College (ALC). In a letter addressed to the Secretary (HE) of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the ABVP has called for timely release of stipends, citing the financial difficulties faced by students.
The letter highlighted that the stipend for ALC students has not been released for a long period, causing financial distress for students. The majority of students at ALC come from poor backgrounds, and the delay in stipend payments has severely impacted their studies. The ABVP has expressed its concern that the issue of student welfare is continuously ignored by the competent authorities under the A&N Administration.
The ABVP has emphasized that the delay in the release of stipend payments may seem like a small matter for top-level bureaucrats, but it has a significant impact on the financially poor students. The ABVP has requested the authorities to take the issue of student welfare seriously and ensure that the stipend payments are released on time.
