Port Blair, Mar 15: Auto unions have demanded for allotment of designated space for parking of Auto at Garacharmam, Bathubasti, Minnie Bay and Dairy Farm Junction. In separate petitions submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, representatives of these unions have urged the District Administration for allotment of parking space at designated spots of pick-up and drop of passengers.
Applicant unions have requested for space sufficient for parking of at least 10 auto’s beside the Water Tank near PHC Garacharma, at Bhatu Basti opp. Arvind Hotel, vacant space near Minnie Bay junction and Dairy Farm junction. It has been told to the authority that availability of parking space will improve their services and they will be able to provide their services in a much organised manner.
It is told to the District Administration that with increase in number of Auto’s, unorganised parking of auto’s can be seen at aforesaid points. But these are hazardous and lead to serious consequences.
Demand has been raised for allotment of parking space at Garacharma junction, Bathubasti junction, Minnie Bay junction and Dairy farm junction.
