Port Blair, Mar 14: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to get 10 seats reserved for Andaman and Nicobar students in any of the prominent Sainik Schools, located in Mainland India.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament mentioned that many parents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have expressed a keen interest in sending their children to study in the prestigious Sainik Schools located in Mainland India.
He pointed out that Sainik School provides an excellent opportunity for students to pursue their dream of joining the Defence forces in our country. The rigorous training and discipline imparted by these institutions right from childhood make students more effective, disciplined and skilled human beings.
The Member of Parliament also mentioned that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands presently does not have a Sainik School and hence he requested the Lt. Governor to take up this matter with the concerned ministry and get 10 seats reserved for Andaman and Nicobar students in any of the prominent Sainik Schools, located in Mainland India.
He said that this step would be of immense benefit to the students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, who would be able to receive the same training and education as their counterparts in other parts of the country. It would also be a great initiative to promote and encourage the youth of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to join the Indian Armed Forces.
