Diglipur, Feb 27: In a bid to alleviate the sufferings of the auto rickshaw owners, bikers, power tiller owners and other motor vehicle owners, the management of ANIIDCO Ltd. Port Blair has erected a canopy at the ANIIDCO Retail Outlet, Diglipur (Petrol Pump) recently.
In fact, it was a long cherished demand of the stakeholders/fuel consumers of the ANIIDCO that a canopy at the ANIIDCO Retail Outlet, Diglipur is erected so that they might ward off the wrath of different weather conditions. The setting up of the canopy at the petrol pump has served the purpose, the auto-owners said.
However, many people feel that had the canopy been a little larger in size, it would have been better. On that point, when the Andaman Sheekha contacted the staffs manning the Petrol Pump said that, since the premises of the Retail Outlet isn’t large enough to accommodate the three dispensers at single spot or in a line as it would challenge the turning radius, the canopy couldn’t be expanded and given a single shape, and hence it was split over two spots. After days of deliberation on all the related aspects, the IOC engineers resultantly took this decision of erecting the canopy this way, they said.
Significantly, the inconveniences which the vehicle owners had to face during filling the fuel at the petrol pump was exclusively reported and published by Andaman Sheekha in the month of November 2021, and it is the impact of the reporting and as a result of which the matter was duly addressed and the problem redressed by the ANIIDCO management.
Though the canopy is undeniably a good job done by the ANIIDCO Management, but still there is a lot to be done at the Petrol Out Let, the stakeholders maintained. Primarily, the Petrol Pump is plagued with its driveway. In the rainy season the access to the lone Petrol Pump becomes unspeakably bad; the driveway to the ANIIDCO Retail Outlet, Diglipur should be constructed on priority, the public as well as the employees of petrol pump opined.
