Port Blair, Dec 21: Mr. P.B. Murugan, Chairperson, Mr. M.Aurmugam, Sr. Vice. Chairperson & Mr. Indrapal Singh, Jr. Vice Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council along with Mr. J. Rajendram Councillor Ward No.17 and Sr. Officers of the Council visited Ward No. 17&18 on 21/12/2012.On his way to Ward No.17 the Chairperson inspected the Municipal Dharmasala near near Netaji Ground, Aberdeen and issued directions to the EE(Works) of the Council to put up proposal for constructing a double storied building by demolishing the existing old structure which was constructed long back.
During his visit to Brookshabad area Mr. J. Rajendran, Ward Councillor pointed out that untreated water is being supplied to the resident through public hydrants. He requested to ensure supply of treated water and sanction of individual water tap connection to the residents of the area.
The Chairperson directed the EE(Water) of the Council to look into the matter and do the needful urgently. The Chairperson also visited the Municipal Safaiwala colony in Ward No.17 and the Tsunami quarters in ward No. 18 and issued direction for repair of the road and maintenance of street lights in the area.
