
Port Blair, Feb 19: It is a matter of immense pride for the tribal people of A & N Islands that the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi met with Mr. Rayhaan Pasha, the President of Nicobar Youth Association during the inaugural ceremony of the National Tribal Festival held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi on 16th February 2023 and discussed important matters concerning the promotion of tribal artifacts and other traditional products.
The Prime Minister has always been outspoken about the empowerment of tribal people as reflected in his popular slogan, “Sabka-Saath-Sabka-Vikaas-Sabka-Vishwas-Sabka-Paryas.” During his discussion with Mr. Rayhaan Pasha, the Prime Minister praised the initiative undertaken for the economic empowerment of the tribal people of the A&N Islands.
With the support and guidance of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED, Mr. Rayhaan& Mr. Amaan undertook the humongous task of collecting the traditionally-made products and traditionally-made organic-virgin coconut oil produced by the tribal of Andaman & Nicobar. The initiative to integrate the products produced by the tribal people in the Andaman Nicobar to a bigger market was first undertaken in 2015 by Mr. Rayhaan Pasha. The initiative achieved a grand success after it received support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Mr. Rayhaan was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Commendation certificate in 2022 for his extraordinary contribution in the field of entrepreneurship.
Due to their selfless service to the tribal people of the islands, Mr. Rayhaan Pasha and Mr. Amaan have become a source of inspiration for the entire tribal community of the A&N Islands.
