Port Blair, Feb 02: Awareness rally on protecting the environment was organized by the ECO-CLUB of GSSS Kapanga, Katcthal on 02/02/2023 under the Guidance of Mr. Suresh.J Panicker (incharge Eco-Club). The rally was flagged off by the Special Relief Officer (SRO) Katchal Mr. Mohamed Yusuf from the School premises at 9.30 A.M. The Teachers and Students participated in the rally. Mrs. Babithawathi (GTT, Sci.) explained to the students about the importance and benefits of protecting the environment for the survival of human and animal life. Slogans and Banners about the protection of the environment were raised by the students in different languages such as Nicobari, Tamil, Hindi and English to make the public of Katchal Island aware of the importance of protecting the environment and how it directly or indirectly affects human and animal life. The students and teachers collected nearly 05 bags of waste materials, including plastic bottles, wrappers etc. from the market area and it was properly and securely disposed of.
