Diglipur, January 24: ParakramDiwas marking 126th Birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was observed in Diglipur yesterday.
Mr. Dipankar Mistry, the Pramukh, Diglipur garlanded the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in presence of Mr. Biswanath Sen, Tehsildar, Diglipur and other officials of the Tehsil Office and Mr. P.R. Singaram, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Subhashgram. People who had gathered to become part of this great celebration, offered flowers and paid their tributes to this iconic freedom fighter.
Pramukh and Pradhan then delivered their speeches on this remarkable day.
It was on this day in 1897, that Neta Ji Subhas Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Odisha.
Bose was one of the prominent heroes of India’s independence struggle. Referred as Netaji, he fought for independence throughout his life, within the country and from abroad.
Owing to the legendary freedom fighter’s extraordinary contribution to the Indian freedom struggle, the government designated Netaji’s birthday as ParakramDiwas in 2021.
The 23rd of January is celebrated as ParakramDiwas every year to inspire people of the country, especially the youth, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity as Netaji did, and to infuse in them a spirit of patriotic fervour.
