Port Blair, Jan 22: ‘’Beach cleaning drive was conducted on 20/01/2023 by the Eco Club of the Govt. Senior Secondary School Kapanga, Katchal under Samagra Shiksha . A group of 32 students of Class XI and 03 teachers conducted the Beach Cleaning drive. The group was flagged off by School in charge Mr. V. Machendran (PGT) from the School premises at 9.30 A.M. The students were escorted by the teachers Mr. Suresh J.Panicker, Librarian, Mrs. Babithawati GTT and Mr. Prince Dennis (CI), meanwhile Mrs. Babithawati explained to the students the importance and benefits of Beach cleaning. The students and teachers collected nearly 29 bags of waste materials, including plastic bottles, rope, plastic fishing net etc. from the beach and it was properly and securely disposed off in an isolated place”.
