Port Blair, Jan 20: The National Youth Day and week concluded at Auditorium Maharashtra Mandal on 19thJan 2023. The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Bair organized the programme in associate with Maharashtra Mandal Port Blair. During the week long programme 8 events were organized Rally, yoga camp, Yoga competitions, song, dance drawing (in three groups) and essay competition. About 150 youths were participated in all competitions.
The Zilla Parishad President South Andaman Mrs. Pramila Kumari was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. She also addressed the youth about their various development and career building, the cultural significance in the countries. All the winners of the competitions were awarded trophies and certificates by the chief guest and prizes were also given by other guests present.While Mr. Aziz ul Rahman , Senior Vice President of PBMC was also present as the guest of honor, he addressed the youth on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, how in today’s situation, by adopting the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in their lives, they can emerge from all situations and play their role in character building and nation building. President of Maharashtra Mandal Mr.Gorakh Nath Patil also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Sukhranjan Biswas, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK Port Blair, welcomed the guest and also inspired the youth as per the biography of Swami Vivekananda. While Dr. Sunita Patil coordinated the programme and Mr. Gopal Ch Biswas of Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair proposed vote of thanks. Mr.Yogeswer Rao and Miss Raat Rani National service Volunteers also extend their support to grand success of the programme.
