Port Blair, Dec 16: The Press Information Bureau, A & N Islands, is all set to conduct its fifth Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at Hut Bay, which will commence from 19th Dec, 2012.
Lt Governor, Lt Gen Bhopinder Singh(Retd) will inaugurate the campaign at the sprawling Bharat Nirman venue at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Hut Bay, Little Andaman. The Lt Governor will be accompanied by the Chief Secretary, Mr. Anand Prakash.
The campaign will begin with a Bharat Nirman Rally to be flagged off by the Director of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and broadcasting, Kolkata.
Addressing the media persons, Mr. Dhanashekaran, Media and Publicity Officer, gave brief details of the Campaign. The campaign will be for five days from 19th to 23rd Dec, 2012. First time from Kolkata, people will place stalls in the campaign and each panchayat will propose five persons for stalls.
In this connection, Mr. Dhanashekaran also said that more than 40 departments, banks and agencies will take part in the mega exhibition. 30 small stalls will be given to the local participants for putting up of food stalls and handicraft centres.
The tourism department will also take part by organizing the film festival. Various movies of different language like Tamil, Hindi, Bengali and documentary movies on RTI will be shown during the campaign. In this regard, 3 seminars will also be held.
For the first time in Bharat Nirman Campaign Marathon race (21km) will be organized at Little Andaman on 23rd Dec at 6 am. The race will start from the market and will end at the PIC venue.
