Port Blair, 15 December 2022: The Police Station Bambooflat has successfully managed to solve an almost Three-month-old theft case; through connecting the dots.
As per sources, on 11 Sep 2022 the thief decamped with around 240 Gram Gold from a house in the Bambooflat area. The next day i.e 12 Sep matter was registered in Bambooflat Police Station.The Police team started the investigation but the success didn’t come in their hands.
Later on 28 Oct 2022 another theft case of gold items from a house of Sippighat area was reported in Police Station Humfrigunj. The Humfrigunj Police arrested a man namely Papa Rao, resident of Ferrargunj area in this connection.
On investigation, Papa Rao admitted that he had stolen the gold and kept it in a pvt. bank. Thus the stolen gold was recovered from the Private Bank. Later the Police discovered there were some more quantities of unidentified gold left in the same bank in the name of the accused person. Humfrigunj Police team arrested the person on 29 Oct 2022; however, on 06th Nov the accused person got bail from the court and he was released on bail.
On 28 November the accused person tried to take a loan from a different bank against
the gold kept in the earlier bank.
Based on the identification of gold, the Bambooflat Police team started investigation and the Police team identified gold thief at Bambooflat and on 12 Dec they arrested the accused person Papa Roa alias Raja, resident of Ferrargunj area by the police team led by inspector K. Abdul Nasir and under the supervision of the SDPO (Bambooflat) Mr. Arshdeep Singh Panwar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and under the overall supervision of Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District and recovered 90 percent stolen gold from the accused person Papa Rao and on 13 Dec produced in a court where the Judge ordered the Police take the accused in to 03 days police remand, a source said.
