Port Blair, Dec 06: At PHC Campbell bay specialist telemedicine OPD has started where senior doctors from Delhi are providing free assistance with the help of administration. This time senior consultant gynecology and robotic surgery Dr Pakhee Aggarwal Provided services to 20 females from Campbell Bay, Govind Nagar and Laxmi Nagar patients.
Most of the cases were examined by PHC doctor Irene and briefed to Dr.Pakhee who connected online. A review OPD of gynaecology will be organized after two weeks. One of the patients, Savita (name changed), said that such services are of great benefit to us, we are getting treatment from mainland doctors , earlier they had to go to mainland by spending thousands of rupees but now they can get their opinion free of cost at Campbell Bay.
Dr Nitin Shakya,Assistant Commissioner / SDM Campbell Bay told that they are organizing telemedicine on a regular basis and next OPD are for skin and child diseases. Administration is also planning to rotate specialist doctors to far flung areas so that expert opinion is provided to such patients.
