Port Blair, Nov 27: A 8 feet long (approx.) crocodile was captured by Hut Bay Wildlife Division on 24 Nov 2022. As per information, on 21 Nov some villagers sighted a crocodile in a nallah close to Murgan Temple at Hut Bay. The croc sighting was then reported to Wildlife Officials.
The Wildlife Officials then formed a team on the following day i.e. 22 Nov and a cage was placed in the creek in low tide and then deputed staff to watch the movement of the crocodile and warned all the villagers to not enter nalla for the next few days.
On 24 Nov morning, a crocodile around 8 feet long got trapped in the cage at about 06:00 AM. The wildlife team then safely removed the crocodile from its cage and took it to the East Coast area where it was safely released.
