Port Blair, Nov. 14:NTPC Ltd organised a state level painting competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The painting competition was conducted under the National Campaign on Energy Conservation, launched by the Ministry of Power, to promote energy conservation in the country. With ‘circular economy – Reuse, Reduce & Recycle’ and ‘We are pro planet people’ as the central themes, the competition aimed to make the students aware about the need for conserving energy.
The competition is an exemplary effort to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creativity while making them aware about Energy Conservation.
The painting competition on energy conservation was first conducted at the school level for Class V, VI & VII in Group-A and Class VIII,IX & X in Group-B, over 1500 students competed for the school level competition, out of which 50 students from each Group were invited for Sate level Painting Competition held at Marine Community Hall, Port Blair.
Chief guest Shri Binay Bhushan, IAS (Secretary Power) and Ms Ranjana Deswal, DANICS (Director Power) awarded the winners of the Competition.
Winners in the Group A categories are – First prize winner S MAHESHRAAJA (St. Mary’s School, Bathubasti) Second Prize: ARPITA BEPARI (Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lambaline), Third prize: RAJARSHI MANDAL (Mahatma Gandhi International School,Brookshabad).
Winners in the Group B categories are – first prize winner SUHANA KHATUN (Govt Girls Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair), Second Prize NEHA MONDAL (Govt Girls Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair), Third Prize INDRAJIT DAS (Govt Sec. School Madhupur, Diglipur).
The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd position of both the categories were given the prize of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/- & Rs 20,000/- respectively and Consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each were also distributed to 20 participants of this event
1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of State Level Painting Competition will be invited to Delhi to participate in “National Level Painting Competition” to be held on 12th December, 2022.
