Diglipur, Nov 09: Newly constructed Sub-Centre Madhupur at Ward No. 5 under Madhupur Panchayat, Diglipur was inaugurated on 7th Nov by the Chief Guest Mr. Deepankar Mistry Pramukh , Diglipur Block in the presence of Mr. Shyamal Debnath, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Madhupur and nearly 75 villagers.
As per report, in his inaugural address Mr. Deepankar Mistry thanked A & N Administration and DHS for sanctioning and construction of the Sub-Centre at remote area of Madhupur, and lauded the efforts made by the Pradhan for getting it sanctioned by the Administration and appealed all the villagers to make use of the health care services provided by the Sub-Centre.
Mr. Shyamal Debnath, speaking to the gathering said that this Sub-Centre will not only cater to the villages under Madhupur Panchayat but also provide services to the residents under Sitanagar Panchayat. He also requested DHS to declare this Sub-Centre as Health And Wellness Centre and to post Community Health Officer for better health care services.
An elderly person of the village expressed happiness for the opening of the Sub-Centre and thanked the Pramukh, Pradhan and the CMO for making it functional. Earlier, people especially pregnant woman from the remote area of Madhupur Ward Nos. 5, 6 , 7, Krishna Puri, Naya Dera, Rabindra Pally and Seeta Nagar had to spend rupees about 400 to 500 to go to Sitanagar for routine check up and treatment, now they can avail the services at their door steps, they observed.
Earlier welcoming the Chief Guest and villagers Dr Sidaaraju, CMO told that this Sub-Centre will cater to more than 2000 population of the remote areas of Madhupur Ward Nos. 5, 6 , 7, Krishna Puri, Naya Dera, Rabindra Pally and Seeta Nagar.
One Health Worker Male and ANM will be posted , they will provide 24X7 services to the needy patients. Screening for NCD by checking BP and blood sugar will be done and medicine will be distributed at the sub centre itself. One medical officer will be visiting the sub centre at least once in a month, the CMO said.
At this event, Coconut plantation was also done by the Chief Guest and other officials.
The CMO also said that time and again the Andaman and Nicobar Administration takes every step to strengthen the health care services to achieve universal health coverage.
In the end nearly 35 patients were examined by CMO and distributed medicines, the report said.
