Diglipur, Nov 07: A massive dharna was staged by the BJP leaders against the local police in connection to the matter of the Rohit Mondal death case here today.
As per report, a group of people comprising the parents & relatives of the deceased boy, a huge number of the BJP leaders and workers first held a dharna in front of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office here and then after about twenty minutes the assemblage proceeded to the Police Station, Diglipur today.
The agitated people then mounted protest at outside the Police Station. The irate mob demanded justice for the lad who met an untimely death in such a manner.
Mr. AjoyBairagi, BJP State President, A & N Islands and Mr. Vishal Jolley, Ex- BJP State President, A & N Islands and National Executive Member of the party, after reaching from Port Blair by Helicopter today led the protest. They both then demanded for a fair investigation in the case by an independent investigative agency.
The protesting public dispersed from the place of the dharna at around 02.30PM, while before leaving the mother of Rohit Mondal submitted a copy of representation to the SDPO, Diglupr, the report said.
