Port Blair, Nov.06: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and in order to celebrate the rich cultural traditions of our country,the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration in association with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre organized a weeklong workshop from 30th October. The workshop culminated today with enthralling performances by the exponents Ms TushiNaskar in Kathak and Ms Swagata Sarma in Bihu and participants of the workshop at Andaman Club. Large number of people witnessed the programme much to their delight.The workshop was attended enthusiastically by about 30 participants during which, they learnt the nuances of both the dance form.
Bihu is not just a dance form for Assamese people but also a very important depiction and representation of their diverse culture .On the other hand, Kathak is an Indian classical dance which is known for its intricate footworks and enchanting movements.
