Port Blair, Nov 03: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI demanded to provide facilities for all candidates of A &N Islands to appear in CTET examination through a letter addressed to Chief Secretary, A & N Administration.
In his letter he mentioned that the Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the 16th edition of Central Teachers Eligibility Test in CBT mode between December 2022 and January 2023. As per Public Notice of CBSE dated 20.10.2022, the online application process started on 31.10.2022 and the last date for submitting application online is 24.11.2022.
Further he wrote that only one center is allocated to A & N Islands. And, in Port Blair center only 765 candidates will be allowed to write this test online. The capacity was full within a few hours of opening of the site. Also he informed that there are more than 4000 candidates across the islands waiting to appear in this examination.
As this examination is a stepping stone for those aspiring to be part of the teaching profession, he requested the Chief Secretary to take up the matter with CBSE and ensure that all the candidates of our Islands can appear for this examination without any hurdle. In the interest of candidates residing in remote Islands, it may please be ensured that there are sufficient centers in all the three districts.
If conducting examinations for all the students in CBT mode is difficult considering infrastructural constraints, the possibility of conducting the same in offline mode needs to be explored considering the future of thousands of aspiring candidates; he added.
