Port Blair, Dec 11: The 10 MW hired Power House established at Phoenix Bay by Sudhir Ready Genset Consortium, New Delhi has been commissioned and started delivering 10 MW to the South Andaman Grid w.e.f. 08.12.2012.
Mr. Jalaj Shrivastava Pr. Secretary (Power) inaugurated the same on 08.12.2012 at 1100 hours. Mr. Anand Behari, Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department and Mr. N.K. Gupta, Director, Sudhir Ready Genset Consortium were present on the occasion.
With the commissioning of this 10 MW Power Plant the power supply in Port Blair and South Andaman is on sound footing and as on date Electricity Department is having about 6 MW excess power during peak hours.
