Kadamtala, Oct 31: An incident of electrocution was reported from Kadamtala, Middle Andaman on 28th Oct.
As per report, approximately 4km from Kadamtala Bridge towards Baratang a loaded pvt. truck which was heading towards Port Blair got stuck in the centre of the road. As a result, the road got completely blocked. Another pvt truck tried to pull the truck; while the cleaner climbed on to the roof of the truck’s cabin to take out the rope and while doing so, the cleaner was hit by a live current wire and the truck driver who was in physical touch with the truck also hit by the current shock.
Express B (STS) which was heading towards Rangat from Port Blair was stopped in the traffic jam. However, the STS Bus Driver Mr. Mani Mutthu displaying his courage and wit, carried and transported both the victims in his bus to Kadamtala Hospital without wasting time as the cleaner’s condition was serious. Both were admitted to Kadamtala Hospital. People showered their praise on Mr. Mani Mutthu for that act of his bravery.
