Port Blair, Oct 04: The Govt. of India has announced theextension of PMGKAY foodgrains to its beneficiaries till December,2022. The PDS &PMGKAY foodgrainswill be distributed in advance for 2 months for October,2022 toNovember,2022 in one go in the entire UT in the month of October 2022. All the ration cardholders and PMGKAY beneficiaries have been informed to purchase the foodgrains as per their entitlement for 2 months in October,2022.
Further, all Priority House Hold (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holders covered under National Food Security Act residing in South Andaman District, North & Middle Andaman District and Campbell Bay will be entitled for 5 kg foodgrains in the scale of 4.0 kg rice and 1.0 kg wheat per person per month free of cost. Since, the Tribal population is habitual rice eater and as per their request, PHH & AAY beneficiary of Car Nicobar and Nancowrie group of Islands will be entitled for 5 kg Rice only per person per month free of cost under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). This is in addition to their regular entitlement under NFSA.
Hence, all such beneficiaries have been advised to draw their entitled quota of foodgrains from the first week of October 2022 to 30thNovember 2022. However, the Ration Card holders who are not able to lift ration in the month of October,2022 can also lift their foodgrains in the month of November,2022.
Further, the migrants of other States presently residing in this UT and are covered under NFSA (PHH & AAY) in their respective States/UTs can also receive foodgrains from any FPS of this UT under the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme. For any clarification, they can contact Toll Free No. 14445.
