Port Blair, Oct 03: On 01.10.2022, Ms Vedita Reddy, IAS ,Secretary (Education) along with Director( Education ) and engineers of APWD visited G S S School Bambooflat. Ms V. K. Mariyam Bibi, ZPM, Bambooflat, Smti Dhana Rekha, ZPM Shorepoint, Shri Bablu Pradhan Bambooflat- 1, Smti Rasheeda Pradhan Hopetown, SmtiNaseemabibi, Pradhan Bambooflat- 2, Shri Bala, Pradhan Shorepoint, Shri Y. Raj Kumar PSM B-2 and Shri B. Laxmi Narayan, PSM Hopetown also accompanied the officials.
They apprised her about various issues faced in the daily functioning of schools. Priority was given for urgent repair and maintenance of school buildings, C/o Playground and C/o Assembly hall at GSSS Bambooflat. After that they visited Primary school of Tsunami Pahad, Hopetown, Chunnabatta and Shorepoint.
During the visit, Secretary checked the quality of the mid- day meals and was satisfied with the quality. She also inspected the classrooms and interacted with students. The Secretary also stressed about cleanliness, safe drinking water and urgent repair works.
She asked the Assistant Engineer (APWD) to prepare the necessary estimates for C/o Playground, C/o hall at GSSS Bambooflat and repair & maintenance of school buildings in the feeder schools. She also said that procurement of furniture is already initiated and it will also be provided at the earliest.
The PRI ‘s expressed their heartfelt gratitude for sparing her valuable time and listening to the issues of the schools.
