Port Blair, Dec 12: To celebrate 66th Birth Anniversary of UPA Chairperson and AICC President, Smti Sonia Gandhi’s various programmes were organised today under the leadership of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President , PCC.
At Tiranga Park Blood donation camp was organised by Pradesh Yuva Congress under the supervision of the Directorate of Health Services, AN Administration. In the programme a lady, Mrs Pushpalata Kumari, Secretary of District Congress Committee donated her blood followed by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, and many others for the noble cause.
Dr Navin Govind, Dy Director, Blood Safety, Mrs Sumati Das, Staff Nurse and other staff of GBP Hospital were present on the occasion along with Port Blair Municipal Council Chairman Mr. PB Murugan, senior leaders and supporters of the Party.
A programme was also organized thereafter at Gandhi Bhavan on Women’s empowerment conducted by Pradesh Mahila Congress. Apart from these, sweets were distributed to Seva Niketan, Balika Niketan, Pranab Kanya Sangh and hospitals by PBMC Chairman, District City Committee and Ward member of ward No:4. All these programmes were also attended by the President, PCC.
Block congress committees of Wimberligunj, Bambooflat and Chouldary also distributed sweets at respective medicals.
