Diglipur, Sept. 23: Setting an example for others, the villagers and PRI Members of Gram Panchayat Diglipur recently joined hands and temporarily repaired a village road by community service.
As per details, a 150 mtr temporary drain was made while all the pot holes were filled with earth/aggregates on the rural road starting from RCC Bridge to Samar Sikder house at Agaa Nallah, Ward No. 04 of Khudirampur village under Gram Panchayat Diglipur on 21st Sept through Shramdaan.
The Shramdaan was organized by the residents of this village under the guidance and leadership of Mrs. Boopathi K.V. Raj, Pradhan, GP, Diglipur.
Altogether 50 people participated in the Shramdaan in which the Pradhan, Mrs. Boopathi K.V. Raj was seen to carry the basket of earth and fill the potholes. The other PRI Members were also shown to shed their sweat in the shramdaan.
The shramdaan started at 07.00am and continued till 05.00pm with a lunch break. The residents of this village and the Pradhan conveyed thanks to Mr. Ajay Krishna Biswas, a local contractor of Diglipur for sparing his excavator to execute the shramdaan.
The shramdaan gave a new look to the rundown road and promised to end the woes of the residents of this region. The initiative was applauded by the District Administration while the shramdaan received credible responses from social media, a source from GP Diglipur said.
