Port Blair, Sep 09: In the fight against bootlegging and sale of liquor illicitly, the police team of PS Hut Bay, South Andaman District achieved major success and seized a huge quantity of 173 nos. of 750ml IMFL bottles from bootleggers near Helipad, Hutbay while they were transporting/carrying the bottles in a car bearing reg. no. AN01 D5790.
On 07th September 2022 at around 2200 hrs., SI Randhir Singh, I/c PS Hut Bay along with a police party comprising of HC(D)/2552 ThangaDurai and PC/1585 Safeer of PS Hut Bay conducted a surprise raid near Helipad, Hut Bay and recovered 173 nos. of 750ml IMFL bottles (Aristocrat Fine Whisky) from the possession of 1) Ripon Mistry, S/o Kuberchandra Mistry (35)Yrs, R/o Rabindra Nagar, Little Andaman, 2) Ashim Mallick, S/o Late Jatindra Mallick (38)Yrs, R/o V.K Pur And 3) K.P Ismail, S/o Late K.P Idru, (33)Yrs R/o R.B Nagar.
The Police party seized the property under the cover of a seizure memo and arrested the involved accused persons on the spot. A case vide crime No. 68/22 dated 07.09.2022 U/s 32 Reg.III of 1876 has been registered against them. Further investigation is in progress.
