Port Blair, Sep 09: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member, BJP and Former State President BJP, ANI demanded to provide adequate compensation for the death of two young lives of the same family regarding an unfortunate and heart-breaking incident that has taken place on the 31st of August, 2022 at Anna Nagar, Hope Town Gram Panchayat through a letter addressed to Lt. Governor, A & N Islands and Chief Secretary, A&N Administration.
In his letter, he mentioned that on the aforementioned date, it was made known to me that a poor father and mother had lost both their children in a pond by drowning. Both of them drowned in the pond and the body was recovered by the local villagers.
Further, he wrote that nothing could compensate poor parents for the loss they have suffered in this way. Their agony, pain and sufferings are sorrowful. Their mental as well as financial condition are extremely poor and therefore, being a welfare state, in my view, they should be adequately & rightfully compensated for the loss of lives.
Accordingly, he requested considering the mournful state of affairs of the poor parents and the loss of two young lives to award adequate compensation from the Lt. Governor’s Relief Fund or from any other source/head, as deemed fit and proper.
