On the occasion of Teachers’day, I extend my warm greetings to entire fraternity of hardworking teachers educating young minds in our A&N Islands. I also pay my grateful tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and a distinguished teacher as well as academician, on his birth anniversary today.
The values inculcated by teachers stay with the students for life. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has said, “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, calibre and future of an individual”. The 21st century will be shaped by the societies that accord topmost importance to education, research and innovation. Needless to say the role of our teachers is extremely vital in the evolution of our great Nation as a Knowledge economy. I also acknowledge and appreciate the relentless efforts by our teachers during the COVID 19 pandemic in reaching out to every child in the remotest corners of the islands by making best use of the online mode of teaching and coming up with creative and innovative teaching tools. The initiatives taken by the teaching community of our Islands in making the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign a grand success in different corners of the islands by inspiring children to take part in different activities are commendable.
Once again, on Teachers’Day, I wish all teachers a very happy Teachers’Day. We are proud of you!
