Port Blair, Sep 01: Mr. Satyendra Singh Durshwat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman conducted a meeting on 31st August 2022 with NHIDCL officials in connection to getting updates about the status of NH4 works.
Continuing his actions, the Deputy Commissioner, N&M along with Mr. Vaibhav Rikhari, AC, (HQ) and Mr. CS. Pillai, Tehsildar (HQ) Mayabunder physically inspected the dangerous patches of NH4 on 01stSeptember 2022 at the Rest Camp area and several places between Budda Nallah area and PattharTikrey area.
Mr. Satyendra Singh Durshwat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, N&M was convinced by the ongoing works and said that all the NH4 repair and maintenance works are satisfactorily underway.
Earlier, yesterday Mr. Satyendra Singh Durshwat had called an urgent meeting in the conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room with NHIDCL officials in connection to get updates about the status of NH4 works he directed on 25th August 2022.
As we know, last week on 25th August DC, N&M physically inspected all the dangerous patches of NH4 in the Middle Andaman region and he directed the NH4 contractors to make all the dangerous patches of NH4 motorable and walkable for the pedestrians within Monday.
Mr. Vaibhav Rikhari, AC, (HQ), Mr. CS. Pillai, Tehsildar(HQ) Mayabunder and other district officials along with NHIDCL officialswere present in the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner, N&M expressed his disappointment with the NHIDCL for their lethargic work attitude and further he gave a strong direction that the area of Rest camp near Ganesh Temple, the condition of the road is very rough and advised to clean all muds and make the area motorable.
Further, he added that in the area of Billiground, Ward No. 3, the NH4 road condition is miserable and it has happened due to not clearing the drain alongside the road.
Deputy Commissioner, N&M strictly mentioned that the drain must be cleared within two days and he will physically inspect all the patches again, and if the NHIDCL fails to complete the commitment the DC will be bound to initiate severe action against the NHIDCL/Contractors.
The NHIDCL officials assured that they will be making all possible efforts to make the NH4 motorable as directed by the Deputy Commissioner, N&M.
