Port Blair, Aug 25: A team headed by Mrs. U.Kavitha, Chairperson, PBMC along with Mr. S.Shahul Hameed, Chairperson (Water Works Sub Committee), PBMC, Mr. Rajesh Pal Govind, Councillior, Ward No. 18 and officials of the PBMC inspected Garacharma area, wherein due to damage of a major Pipeline the water distribution system in some areas of Ward No. 24, 19, 18 and 17 were badly hampered for the past few days.
The team overviewed the ongoing repairing works undertaken by the APWD. The Chairperson, PBMC interacted with the officials of the APWD and enquired about the ongoing works. Mr. Arun Kumar, Executive Engineer (PHED) who was present during the visit briefed about the ongoing works and also informed that the normal and regular water supply in the affected areas will be resumed by 26th August 2022.
