Port Blair, Aug 25: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded early release of compensation to the family members of the recent crocodile attack victim of Baratang Island.
In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament mentioned that recently on 05 August, 2022 a resident of South Creek Village of Baratang Islands, Mrs. Shoba Ekka lost her life in a crocodile attack, when she was fishing in a nallah of Beach Dera area of Baratang Island, Middle Andaman.
He added that Mrs. Sobha, 38 years, w/o ShahiKhujur belonged to a poor family and she is survived by two children.
The Member of Parliament pointed out that the family members of Late Shoba Ekka are in a state of deep shock and sorrow since this accident.
In this regard, he has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to arrange early release of compensation to the family members of the victim.
