Port Blair, July 27: The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) has approved the waiver of entry fee for the popular and historical tourist destination in the A&N Islands, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island (NSCB Island) with immediate effect.With this, the entry to this Island will be free for all.Earlier, people had to obtain an entry ticket for Rs. 50 per person to visit NSCB Island.
The NSCB Island is a heritage site and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the A&N Islands. A large number of people visit this Island annually. An awe-inspiring and captivating Sound & Light Show is also run here in the evening by the Tourism Department. The NSCB Island is also home to a large number of fauna like deer, peacocks and other birds.
It is to be mentioned here that the Administration took over the administrative control of NSCB Island on July 25, 2022. This momentous step of the A&N Administration has paved the way for further development of tourism, infrastructure as well as increased tourism activities in this Island. Thistourist friendly step of the Administration will greatly benefit the tourists, tourism stakeholders as well as the Islanders.
